Road construction in the Town of Queen Creek directly impacts the commutes of many San Tan Valley residents.  As a result, we wanted to share with you some upcoming construction that may impact your travels.

Pinal County Public Works is happy to announce that Ironwood Dr has all four lanes open, as of February 15th, from Germann Rd to Elliot Rd alignment.

Installation of new traffic signal and turn lane improvements will begin March 5th.

Pinal County Public Works is reaching out to let residents of San Tan Valley know about some upcoming development related work that will begin Monday, February 5th.

The Ironwood Drive Safety Improvement Project is wrapping up and Pinal County Public Works would like to thank motorists and citizens for their patience and support throughout the process of this project.

Drivers east of Show Low should plan for delays as the Arizona Department of Transportation will narrow a 9-mile stretch of US 60 to one lane east of State Route 77 for highway maintenance during the week of Feb. 5.

Continued Utility Work on Hunt Highway

Pinal County Public Works would like to let you know about development related utility work on Hunt Highway south of Gary Road on January 17th and 18th.

Continuous crack seal, striping and cable barrier work has now caused opposite lanes along Ironwood to open for both northbound and southbound travel.

Current north/south two way traffic along the west side of the median along Ironwood Drive will change tonight, January 9th.

Pinal County Public Works would like to let you know that road restrictions will be in place on Saturday, Jan 6th.  Please use caution while driving through work zones.

Development related utility work will take place on Hunt Highway south of Gary Road on December 16th.

 Utility work will take place on Gary Rd north of Empire Blvd on December 21st and 22nd.

Construction continues as SRP and Cox utilities are relocating their overhead facilities underground from approximately Thistle Trail through Magma Road.

Emergency utility work is being performed on Hunt Highway south of Empire Boulevard along the "j-curve" near San Tan Flat and the Christmas tree tent.

Development related utility work will take place on Hunt Hwy south of Empire Blvd as well as south of Gary Rd on Saturday December 9th.

The Ironwood Drive from Germann Road to the Elliot Road Alignment project began in Spring 2017 with an anticipated completion date at the end of Spring 2018.

After two years of research and analysis, the public now has the opportunity to comment on the Arizona Department of Transportation’s draft long-range plan, outlining strategies for meeting the state’s highway and bridge needs over the next 25 years.

Development related utility work will take place in San Tan Valley, on Combs Rd east of Gantzel Rd on November 20th and 21st.

For drivers, road construction is never fun.

But for Pinal County's Public Works Department, road projects are a means to an end - to create more ways for drivers to get where they are going in a safer environment and with less hassle.

Construction is currently taking place as SRP and Cox utilities are relocating their overhead facilities underground from approximately Thistle Trail through Magma Road. Also, CenturyLink is conducting similar work to relocate their facilities from Bella Vista Road through Magma Road. This work is taking place off the roadway; however, there are traffic barricades set up at the shoulder to protect the work zone.
