Combs Coyotes are on the Prowl for a Victory

Our Combs Coyotes are on the prowl for a VICTORY!!!!!    All are welcome to cheer them on.  The Combs Baseball Team starts their journey tonight!!!!

On November 20, 2014 the Florence Unified School District received the announcement that our Poston Butte High School Head Football Coach Paul Moro was awarded the National Football Foundation Frank Kush “Lifetime Achievement” Coaching Award.

Paladin Sports Outreach held its 2nd Annual Taters for Tots Charity Softball Tournament today at the Riverview Sports Complex, Mesa, AZ. 1200+ cans of food & 18 bags of clothes & sports equipment collected during taters for tots charity tourney today. All proceeds from the softball tournament directly benefit the local charity ‘Food from the Heart’ as well as Paladin Sports Outreach programs.

Last Thursday, May 12, 2011 was a busy day for the Mountain Vista Middle School cheer squad.  Not only were they preparing for final exams and getting ready for Academic Exhibition, they were also competing in the Cheerleading Competition held at Coolidge High School.

This years 11-12 All Star Team has made history for San Tan Valley Little League!! They are the new Arizona District 14 Champions. They will start play in the State Championship on Thursday, July 19, 2012 in Tucson.

Congratulations to Poston Butte Football coach Mike De la Torre, who was named the Arizona Cardinal Coach of the week for September 6. Mike and his father George were opposing coaches at Dobson High School on the 6th where Poston Butte took home the win with a final score of 19-8.

The San Tan Youth Football League’s opening day event will be held 6-9 p.m. Sept. 29 at Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road in Queen Creek. The kids football league event is open to community and will include carnival games, booths, bounce houses, the foot­ball player introductions, local vendors and food vendors.

Come Join NFL All?Pro Toby Wright at San Tan Foothills participate in this multi?sport camp and be taught speed and agility drills by Toby Wright. San Tan Foothills Coaching Staff will teach the fundamentals of the following sports. Each day a new sport will be introduced by Head Coaches and players. (Volleyball, Baseball, Basketball, Football) Toby played 7 years in the NFL. He recorded over 110 tackles in ONE Season with the St. Louis Rams. He’s trained many elite athletes in the Phoenix area.

Congratulations to the Combs High School Wrestling Team for taking first place this past weekend at the Jaguar Wrestling Invitational at Desert Ridge High School. Combs received a total score of 111 points, outscoring Poston Butte, Desert Ridge, Skyline, Maricopa and several other schools.

This past weekend the state wrestling tournament for all Arizona high schools was held in Prescott Valley.  Five individual wrestlers from Combs High School placed in top positions.  

Combs High School wrestling team competed this past weekend in the Division III State Championship in Prescott, Arizona. Sophomore, Ted Rico defeated his opponent 3 – 1 for the Division III title in his weight class, and brought home the first Arizona State Championship title to Combs High School.  He finished the year at 47 – 1. Also qualifying for the state tournament were Kelvin Taylor, Riley Bourgeous, Joey Salas and Nigel Gardner.

The Spanish play-by-play announcer for the Arizona Diamondbacks is in custody for allegedly threatening his wife with a knife. Miguel Perez Quintana, 53, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, threatening and criminal damage, according to court paperwork released Wednesday. Phoenix police said they were called to Quintana's home Monday night and found his wife with blood on her legs and cuts on her left hand.

All good things come to an end. And so it was for the D-backs on Sunday, as their club record 15-game home winning streak went by the boards against the Padres....

When the National League Division Series begins at Miller Park on Saturday, the host Brewers will be fulfilling a potential made clear last winter, while the visiting D-backs will be fulfilling what could only have been a warm and fuzzy dream then....
