On Monday, May 16, 2011 the Mountain Vista Middle School Lady Wolverines took on J.O. Combs Middle School for the girls’ soccer championship game.  It was a close game, with the Lady Wolverines scoring two goals early in the game.  J.O. Combs came back late in the second half and scored a goal, making the score 2-1, Wolverines.

Who out there attended the Diamondbacks vs Brewers game this past weekend?  If you did, you were fortunate to see "one of our own" up on the Jumbotron. San Tan Valley resident, Emily Saults, won the National Semi-Finals at Chase Field on Sunday and is now the Arizona Diamondbacks representative for the 2012 All-Star Game.  Not only was Emily announced prior to the game, her picture and the fact that she was from San Tan Valley, were on the Jumbotron for all to see.  She is also soon to be mentioned on as well.
The NFL says its investigation into whether the New England Patriots used under-inflated footballs in the AFC championship game is ongoing after a report Tuesday night claimed the league found 11 balls were not properly inflated. Troy Vincent, the NFL's executive vice president for football operations, told The Associated Press that the "investigation is currently underway and we're still awaiting findings."
The NFL is investigating whether the New England Patriots deflated footballs that were used in their AFC championship game victory over the Indianapolis Colts. "We are looking into it," league spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an email to The Associated Press on Monday. "We do not have anything further to add at this point."
