First Single Incision Hysterectomy Ever in the East Valley Done is San Tan Valley!

Dr. Natasha LairdOn January 27th I’ll be doing a hysterectomy using the next generation SILS™ procedure. The hysterectomy, or uterus removal, is performed for the treatment of chronic pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal bleeding, prolapse of the uterus, Endometriosis, Fibroids, Cancer, and more. The patient may not even see evidence of the surgery after its performed and she will experience a faster recovery time compared to other hysterectomy methods. One of the major advantages of the SILS™ procedure is that it utilizes only one access point, through the patient’s umbilicus, or belly button, ultimately resulting in the potential for no visible scar while still delivering excellent results. By comparison, traditional laparoscopic hysterectomies involve four ½-inch or smaller incisions that may leave scars.

Food for thought

The Yates family - Desharrah, Frank and Simira - browse through the J.O. Combs Unified School District Food Bank’s clothing selection, where they found some tops and pants for little Simira.

For Ms. Pena, “good” doesn’t necessarily mean having lots of money in the bank. Instead, it means being able to pay her bills and put food on the table, something she’s struggling to do since her husband’s job delivering roofing materials has slowed down as the holidays approach.

Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is Coming to San Tan Valley!

Enjoying great food without a long wait doesn’t mean your meal has to be cooked before you order it and this year, residents of San Tan Valley will get to experience this first hand, when Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers opens in the Skyline Marketplace at Gary Road and Hunt Hwy.

“From the beginning, our focus has been on premium products and superior service. We believe that mentality sets us apart from other fast casual concepts,” remarked President Bill Simon. “At Freddy’s, we don’t begin cooking your food until after you order it so that it is always hot and fresh. Our management team executes an atmosphere that feels like full service hospitality in a quick casual restaurant. I think that’s the reason that we’ve been so well received across the country in markets that vary in size and other demographics. Everyone appreciates high-quality food in clean restaurants prepared by a smiling and friendly team of staff members.”
