Hunt Hwy to Open Friday by 3pm

Hunt Hwy to Open Friday by 3pm

While there will be a shoulder closure in place for landscape restoration, all lanes should remain open for use. The posted speed limit will be 35 mph until shoulder work is completed.

Scheduled for the week of August 27, paving crews will lay temporary pavement along the east side of Hunt Highway, from Gantzel/Johnson Ranch south to Quartzite Road for the next phase of work to begin. This temporary pavement will allow traffic to be maintained on Hunt Highway during this phase of the work.

Scheduled to begin the week of September 3, Hunt Highway traffic, between Gantzel/Johnson Ranch and Magma will be shifted to the east side of the road and onto temporary pavement, one lane in each direction, for work to begin on the west side of Hunt Highway.

Work on the Judd Road and Tourmaline alignment (Phase 5B) continues with paving tentatively scheduled for late August. This phase of the project was originally expected to be completed by the end of October, but as August 21, 2018, Public Works is stating that the work could be completed by the end of September.

Work on Hunt Highway from Johnson Ranch Boulevard/Gantzel Road to Magma Road (Phase 6 and 7) will not begin until the Judd Road and Tourmaline Drive phase is completed in order to provide an alternative access for Copper Basin residents. Motorists will continue to have access along Hunt Highway throughout this remaining work.
