MORE PROJECT DETAILS

Hunt Highway Phase 4 - Bella Vista Road to Magma Road

Construction is 88% complete, onto the Phase 6/7, segment between JR Blvd and Magma Road through the end of March; Judd Road connection is now open and provides access to Copper Basin residents during signal construction at the Coppermine Road intersection.  Full project completion estimated early April 2019. Hunt Highway Phase 5 - Magma Road to Arizona Farms Road

60% Design plan submittal in April; application to State Land Department for right-of-way also in late Spring.  Design completion by end of year, no timeframe yet to start construction (additional funding needed).

Magma Road - Hunt Hwy to Gary Road

60% Design plans complete; application made to the State Land Department for right-of-way in December (8-9 month process).  Project scheduled to start construction in fiscal year 2019/2020; approved funding changed by Transportation Advisory Committee on 2/26/2019 to move up a year (originally planned for FY 20/21).

Germann Road - Ironwood Road to Meridian Road

Design nearly completel finalizing right-of-way acquisition and SRP underground conversion job.  Project to start late Summer 2019.

Ocotillo Road Rehabilitation - Ironwood Road to Kenworthy Road

Pavement restoration project and new traffic signal at the Cambria Drive intersection; Project to start construction March 18, 2019, construction duration 150 days.  [READ MORE]

Gary Road Widening Improvements - end of Town of Queen Creek Project to Empire Blvd

Design is 90% complete; Construction schedule unknown at this time, adjacent development is on-hold until water situation is resolved. (Developer is stakeholder in the irrigation relocation effort.)

Meridian Road - Germann Road to SR24

IGA (intergovernment agreement) completed with the Town of Queen Creek; planned 3-lane improvement on Meridian from Germann to the SR24 Meridian interchange.  Design kickoff in January and construction FY 19/20 (depending on funding).

Meridian Road - Germann Road to Riggs Road/Combs

IGA (intergovernment agreement) completed with the Town of Queen; planned 3-lane improvement on Meridian from Germann to Riggs Road, Design kickoff December, construction FY 21/22 (depending on funding - Project is managed by Town of Queen Creek)

Traffic Engineering Improvements

  • Poston Butte High School Speed Feedback Signage (Gantzel Road)
  • Champion School Speed Feedback Signage (Bella Vista Road) - completion end of March
