PCSO Arrests One of Three Suspects Wanted For A Burglary At San Tan Heights Elementary School

On July 24 2019 there was a burglary at the San Tan Heights Elementary School. In this burglary there were several computers, and miscellaneous items taken, as well as a school van. The van and some of the items were located the next day in the Phoenix area. The van was returned to the school, but was stolen again the following night and recovered at a later date.

Pinal County Sheriff's Detectives have been investigating this case since then, and were able to identify one of the three subjects involved in the incidents. On Oct. 30th Detective's were able to interview Nathan Ortiz DOB 7/21/01. Mr. Ortiz admitted his involvement in the incidents, and admitted to taking the vehicle both times. He was arrested and booked on 2 counts of vehicle theft, 2 counts of Burglary and 1 count of theft above $4000. Ortiz had been visiting relatives in the area when he committed the crimes. He was booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Facility in Florence. The investigation is continuing into the other 2 subjects involved, and we have no further details at this time.
