A new community park may be coming to San Tan Valley

stv-park

A concept plan for the development of a public park in San Tan Valley was presented to the Pinal County Board of Supervisors by representatives from the county's Parks and Recreation Department.

The proposed park would be located on a 44-acre parcel of land and would include a variety of amenities and facilities, including sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, and walking trails. The plan also included provisions for parking, restroom facilities, and lighting.

During the presentation, the Parks and Recreation representatives emphasized the importance of the proposed park in meeting the recreational needs of the growing San Tan Valley community. They also noted that the park would be designed with environmental sustainability in mind, with features such as a solar-powered lighting system and water-conserving landscaping.

The Board of Supervisors asked several questions about the proposed park, including the estimated cost of construction and maintenance, the potential impact on neighboring properties, and the timeline for completion. After considering the presentation and discussion, the Board of Supervisors voted to move forward with the concept plan and directed the Parks and Recreation Department to proceed with more detailed planning and community engagement.

Overall, the presentation highlighted the importance of public parks and green spaces in promoting community health and well-being, as well as the need for careful planning and consideration of environmental and financial factors in park development.
