14th Quarterly San Tan Valley BBQ to be held Jan 28

The San Tan Valley Quarterly BBQ will be held for this winter on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at its usual 4-acre desert location, 27382 N. Dolores Place, San Tan Valley, AZ 85142, from 4 until 8 p.m.

This season's quarterly BBQ will transpire at the usual, 4-acre pristine desert parcel it has always been held at, with views of Picacho Peak and the Malpais section of the San Tan Mountains, at the corner of Dolores Place and Olberg Road. The exact address is 27382 North Dolores Place, San Tan Valley, Arizona, 85142.

"We are pleased to be able to host San Tan Valley's only regular public event," Neal Carter, the event's host, says. "This is the fourteenth Quarterly BBQ, and it seems like every time it just keeps getting bigger. I guess as the area grows, so do the attendees!" Neal Carter says.

Past Quarterly BBQs have featured notable area personalities such as Sheriff Mark Lamb, County Supervisor Mike Goodman, and even state legislators like Mark Finchem, John Fillmore, Wendy Rogers, and Jake Hoffman have been in attendance. "It's a great way for an unincorporated community like San Tan Valley to get together, meet neighbors, and celebrate," Nick Myers, a regular attendee, says. The event also offers a good opportunity to interact with neighbors, community leaders, and elected officials in an informal, get-together setting.

The event, as always, is free and open to the public. Hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks are served. There's ample, on-street parking, but special parking for the handicapped is reserved on the parcel itself, with ample signage and lighting, and a parking attendant for inquiries or handicapped help. This year's cooks are Culinary Arts students from Central Arizona College's acclaimed program.
