The caller states, "A Rural Metro program is being shut down and you are due a refund." The caller then requests personal information including Social Security numbers.

Please notify Rural Metro Fire Department if you receive such a call. (480) 627-6200. If you have been a victim of this scam, contact the Pinal County Sheriff's Office at 520-866-5111 to file a police report.

Rural Metro Fire Department customer service representatives will not request personal information such as social security numbers. Out-bound calls from Rural Metro Fire Department staff are very limited.
