One man is dead and three injured after a two-vehicle crash in Queen Creek Thursday afternoon.

The crash took place at the intersection of  Ironwood and Pima roads just before 3 p.m. The man who passed away, was the only person in his car.  The second vehicle involved was a van with a woman and two children inside.  All three of them reported minor injuries but did not need to be transported to the hospital.

Maricopa County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Pinal County Sheriff's office for traffic redirection as southbound traffic was blocked at Germann and Ironwood for several hours.  Northbound traffic was not affected.

It is not known if speed or impairment were factors and an investigation is underway.
