280-Acre Apex Motor Club Coming to Maricopa

Scottsdale-based Private Motorsports Group has secured 280-acres in the City of Maricopa to develop the future home of the Southwest’s premier motorsports country club. Designed by Bob Barnard of Motorsports Service International, constructed by Phoenix-based LGE and backed by some of the biggest names in Arizona’s car world, Apex Motor Club will have all of the amenities of a luxury country club that racing enthusiasts demand.

In addition to the up to four-mile multi-configuration asphalt road course, Apex will feature a 12,000 square foot clubhouse containing indoor and outdoor dining rooms, lounges, meeting rooms, classrooms, locker rooms and a fitness center; a 12,000 square foot multi-purpose building for member and Apex sponsored functions; a karting facility and multi-configuration kart track; a tuning shop, vehicle concierge facility and fuel station; and approximately 200 automobile condominiums ranging in size from 600 square feet to over 1,800 square feet located from trackside to adjacent to the Apex Clubhouse.

Apex will be the only private motorsports club and race track within the metropolitan area boundaries of one of the six most populated cities in America. Located only 35 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport, Apex’s convenient, easily accessible location and year-round racing season combine for what will be one of the most unique and ideal racing and club environments in the Southwest.

“This state-of-art-private motorsports club has been in the making for the last two years and we are so thrilled to finally announce our development on the Maricopa parcel,” said CEO Jason Plotke of Private Motorsports Group. “We are equally elated to finally bring a private racing club of this caliber to the Phoenix Metropolitan Area and now the Valley of the Sun will be joining an impressive list of other cities to offer a private high-tier racing experience for our members.” The development team is being lead by Jim Riggs, 3-time Phoenix Developer of the Year, who will be designing and marketing car condos for sale or lease. Construction of Apex’s $25 million development is scheduled to start by the Second Quarter of 2017 and be completed within 18 months. The project, which had been wooed by other locales, has received an overwhelming amount of support from the City of Maricopa, Mayor Christian Price and City Council members.

Maricopa Mayor Christian Price stated “We are excited about Apex’s decision to build their motorsports club in Maricopa. The uniqueness of their development adds value to the City of Maricopa. It will, without a doubt, continue to add to Maricopa’s economic vitality and growth.”

“I have always believed the Valley to be a rich and ripe market for this kind of experience. I am continuously asked when the Valley will have a facility to race cars in a club setting on a private track. Apex will meet the demand that we have needed for a long time. I know the development team well and Maricopa is the ideal location for them to construct a motorsports club given its proximity to all parts of the Valley,” said Mike Ingram, the Founder and Chairman of El Dorado Holdings, Inc., one of the largest real estate developers in the City of Maricopa.

Private Motorsports Group says there is already a substantial interest and has had inquiries from over 240 members. The group estimates they will eventually have 450 members. Cost of memberships will range from $18,000 to $75,000.

“The addition of Apex Motor Club in the City of Maricopa will make for an attractive asset in the Greater Phoenix region as well as helping to create an economic impact for the Southwest Valley,” said Chris Camacho, President and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.

“Our private motorsports club will be a lifestyle destination for high-end automobile enthusiasts,” said Plotke. “Whether you are looking for a place to race, store your sports car or hang out in the ultimate man cave, Apex will offer a first-class experience that has really been missing here in the Valley until now.”
