Letter to the Editor: Who on earth at QC sees the bigger picture?

If your household has been analyzing alternate routes to avoid the long traffic lines on Combs good luck! Most or all of the alternates my husband and I considered are also under construction with slow downs and lane closures as per SanTanValley.com. They may be as bad!

  2. Combs lane closures from Schnepf to Leadership academies.
  3. Empire Blvd from Gary to Ellsworth Jan 16 - Feb 28
  4. Ocotillo from Kenworthy to Schnepf Rd and Schnepf Rd from Ocotillo to Combs ... Jan 6 - end of March.
  5. Ocotillo west of Ironwood to Ellsworth
  6. Left turns will be restricted from Pecan Creek onto Ellsworth Rd
  7. Pima east of Ironwood
  8. Pima West of Ironwood
  9. Rittenhouse, from bridge to curve past Village Loop. You've seen it.

To see the full article on Roadwork Alerts, scroll down in the link to the article on ROADWORK at SanTanValley .com, (NOT the article on Road Closure.) Here are details on a few of them as listed in SanTanValley.com:

Utility Work - Empire Blvd
Development related utility work will begin January 16th on Empire Blvd between Gary Rd and Ellsworth Rd. The work is expected to continue thru end of February. Please plan for extra travel time and drive with caution.

Developer Roadwork - Pima Road
Work will begin on Pima Rd east of Ironwood Rd beginning January 6, 2020 and continue through the end of March. Work will include a speed reduction and intermittent traffic shifts. Please plan for extra travel time and drive with caution.

Utility Work - Ocotillo Road
SRP utility work will begin January 6th on a portion of road on Ocotillo Rd and Schnepf Road. Section of Ocotillo Road will be from Kenworthy Road to Schnepf Road. Section of Schepf Road will be from Ocotillo Road to Combs. Work will last through the end of March and will include intermittent speed reductions, lane shifts and possible traffic stoppages. Please plan for extra travel time and drive with caution.

SO, I DON'T SEE ANY ROUTE TO THE 60 OR WEST TO GILBERT OR CHANDLER THAT ISN'T IMPACTED AT THE SAME TIME AS THE SEWER PROJECT OUTSIDE OF ENCANTERRA GATES. YIKES! Did I miss something? Who on earth at QC or the county sees the bigger picture and could have staggered the jobs so that we in this area are not locked in? Not just Encanterra ... the schools, Pecan Creek, the Parks, homes east of us, etc. The parents in this area will have major delays getting to and from any of the 5 schools in the area. This would not be such an impact if it waited until snowbirds returned for the summer, and schools were closed for summer.
