San Tan Valley Area Information

Pinal County public works will begin the roadway rehabilitation project on Ocotillo Road between Ironwood Drive and Kenworthy Road on March 18th. Work on the existing 3-lane road is expected to last through the end of July 2019.
As part of the work on the east side of Hunt Highway, crews are currently constructing a box culvert under the driveway/roadway at the entry to Shops at Copper Basin, with the driveway to Shops at Copper Basin closed for this work.
Wednesday morning, January 23, Magma Road will be reopened to traffic.
Pinal County Public Works has been hard at work improving roadways in and out of San Tan Valley. Below is an update on current and future projects.
Construction on Magma Road at Hunt Highway intersection will begin the first week of January.
Work is currently taking place in the south end of the project, from Johnson Ranch Boulevard/Gantzel Road through Magma Road on Hunt Highway to construct improvements.
Removal of a controller cabinet due to a vehicular accident caused a traffic signal to be nonfunctional on Hunt Highway south of Gary Road in San Tan Valley, by Walmart in late November.
In addition to the Hunt Hwy expansion, several other roadways in San Tan Valley have some upcoming improvements. Below are road construction updates for the next couple of weeks.
Work to expand Hunt Hwy is continuing on schedule in San Tan Valley. Work is currently taking place in the south end of the project from Johnson Ranch Boulevard/Gantzel Road to Magma Road in Hunt Highway. Current work includes utility work on the west side of Hunt Highway. Hunt Hwy is remaining open for travel, one lane in each direction, with traffic shifted away from the work zone.
Pinal County Public Works was able to open the new Tourmanline Rd & Judd Rd connections in San Tan Valley Friday afternoon, October 12th after only a few day delay because of the rain. 
Work is currently taking place in the south end of the project, from Johnson Ranch Boulevard/Gantzel Road to Magma Road in Hunt Highway to construct improvements. Current work includes utility work on the west side of Hunt Highway, with Hunt remaining open for travel, one lane in each direction, with traffic shifted away from the work zone.
Pinal County Public Works is planning to open Judd and Tourmaline Roads for travel, Tuesday, October 9. Starting October 1, paving crews will pave Judd Road with the base and surface layers of asphalt. This work is expected to be complete by the end of the week, with striping scheduled for October 8.
Utility work will take place at the intersection of Gantzel Rd and Chandler Heights Rd throughout the day on September 24th.
Hunt Hwy has been closed between Bella Vista and Johnson Ranch Blvd since April 27, 2018.  This Friday however, August 24, 2018, Hunt Hwy will be reopened by 3:00 p.m.
The intersection of Hunt Highway and Bella Vista Road/Golf Club Drive will be closed to all traffic, except for emergency services, starting August 10th at approximately 9PM due to intersection pavement restoration work.
Hunt Highway is currently CLOSED to traffic between Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Bella Vista Road for crews to construct improvements in this area. The following tentative schedule is provided for the upcoming work and paving activities over the next few weeks.
Emergency utility repair work on Hunt Hwy and Village Ln intersection expected to last through the end of month.
Throughout the day on July 26th development related traffic signal work will take place on Gantzel Road between Combs Road and Empire Boulevard.
On the weekend of August 11th and 12th the intersection of Hunt Highway and Bella Vista Road will have a full closure due to restoration work.
Hunt Highway is currently CLOSED to traffic between Johnson Ranch Boulevard and Bella Vista Road for crews to construct improvements in this area. During this work, all Hunt Highway traffic is routed onto the new Gantzel Road Extension as a detour around the work zone.
