San Tan Valley Area Information

Beginning June 1st, traffic heading east or west bound on Bella Vista, between Hunt Hwy and Gantzel, will notice there's a new light in town.
A few days ahead of schedule, Pima Road/Queen Creek Road is now open!
Pinal County Public Works is currently in the preparation stages for repairing Attaway Bridge, located on Attaway Road south of Hunt Highway.
Development related roadwork on Gantzel Road between Empire Boulevard and Combs Road will begin May 22nd.
Variable message boards will be installed two weeks prior to the start of shoulder work. Work will include: Clearing and grubbing New fence installation Existing fence removal Earthwork
Pinal County Public Works is alerting commuters that SRP development related utility work will take place on Gantzel Road north of Bella Vista Rd from April 25th to May 3rd.
Since 2002, the idea of connecting Gantzel Road to Hunt Highway has been in the plans for Pinal County. To the 90,000+ residents who live in the area, that road is past due.
Pinal County Public Works is completing improvements to Pima Road, including a connection to Queen Creek Road at Meridian Road. The connectivity will result in through traffic from Ellsworth Road to Ironwood Road, and further east into unincorporated Pinal County. The road is expected to be open around May 15th.
The Town of Queen Creek will be closing Ellsworth Road, north of Ocotillo Road from Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m. to Monday, March 20 at 5 a.m.
Pinal County Public Works will be placing pavers near Wal-Mart at Hunt Hwy & Gary beginning March 6th and continuing through March 15th. The work around the medians on Hunt Hwy, near Gary Road will require a 24-Hr lane closure for one direction of travel.
Hunt Hwy lanes to traffic were opened on February 10th and posts throughout social media highlighted the excitement from the community.
The City of Apache Junction will be performing guardrail repair within the Ironwood Drive median between Guadalupe Avenue and Baseline Avenue on Monday February 13, 2017.
Development related utility work will occur on Gantzel Rd., north of Bella Vista Rd., from January 30th to February 8th.
Phase III of the Hunt Hwy expansion will be complete by close of business Friday, February 10th.  While there will still be some work to do in regards to landscape and median pavers near Wal-Mart which will require some traffic control and intermittent lane closures, the cones for the expansion itself will be removed. 
Pinal County Public Works maintenance crews will be doing pot-hole repair on Ocotillo, east of Meridian Rd.
The current phase of Hunt Hwy Construction is wrapping up and we wanted to provide a little more detail about how the final stretch will impact your travel.
Development related road work will take place on Gary Rd. near Empire Blvd., beginning on January 16th. The construction will include lane closures for both directions of travel.
Ellsworth Road will be closed south of Ocotillo from Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. to Monday, Jan. 30 at 5 a.m. There will be no access to Ocotillo Road from the south at Ellsworth Road during the closure; Ocotillo Road will remain open. The closure will allow for the removal of asphalt and pave the base. Completing the two pieces with a full closure instead of a flagging operation increases efficiency, safety and stability.

The final stretch of the current Hunt Highway construction project is right around the corner. Here are some important dates to be aware of as Public Works enters the final stages.
