Central Arizona College invites community members to beat the proverbial heat as the CAC Family Flicks Series meanders throughout the summer by offering a slew of Thursday Classic Movie Matinees across Pinal County. The series continues Aug. 2 at the college’s San Tan Center with a feature presentation of The Mark of Zorro.

The Community of San Tan Valley is officially invited to the 3rd annual San Tan Valley Relay For Life this Friday, April 4th from 6 to 11 p.m. at Combs High School. The Relay raises money for the American Cancer Society and ensures that these funds are used locally to help with anyone diagnosed with cancer. Please come walk the track for your own personal cause and check out all the Relay has to offer.
Pinal County's Animal Care and Control will spend September 24th as "Remember Me Thursday." "We are taking time to remember those animals who did not make it out of shelters alive," stated Animal Care and Control Director Audra Michael.

While the students at Combs Traditional Academy in San Tan Valley may not have been born when the tragic events of September 11, 2001 occurred, they recognize and honor the emergency responders and service men and women who lost their lives on that day every year. 
The Seventh Annual Sedona Winefest will be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sedona “Historic” Posse Grounds Park in West Sedona. This year the event will be held in an all-weather “circus-sized” tent for all attendees to enjoy a community-like setting.
If you have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but are never able to find the time for lessons, you will want to mark your calendar for Sept. 10, 6:30-9:00 p.m. That’s when Queen Creek Parks and Recreation brings in Craig Coffman to teach his very popular class, Instant Guitar for Hopelessly Busy Adults and Teens. Registration begins Tuesday, May 28 for the Summer Reading Program.  Families and their caregivers are strongly encouraged to come into the Florence Community Library and register their children and teens.  This year’s themes are “Dig Into Reading” for children and early literacy and “Beneath the Surface” for teens.  The library will offer Reading Club along with weekly activities, a raffle, treasure hunt, snacks, and fun incentives!

Chandler-Gilbert Community College (CGCC) has teamed up with the Chandler Christian Community Center (CCCC) to fight hunger and raise money for families in need through its Empty Bowls Service-Learning fundraiser event.
Calling all teen zombie enthusiasts to make zombie movies! The Town of Queen Creek and Cornerstone Church are offering a free evening of zombie fun for 7th through 12th graders on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 5-8 p.m. at the Recreation Annex located at 21802 S. Ellsworth Rd. Actors and directors are needed to help make gruesome, ghastly or drop-dead funny zombie films.
Encanterra is inviting the community to join them October 10th from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Model Home Gallery where you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of artwork displayed throughout the homes, and local artists offer glass blowing demonstrations and painting classes.
Not since 1982 has an event like what is heading our way this weekend taken place.  This weekend a total lunar eclipse will partner with a supermoon making the night sky Sunday night to Monday morning pretty spectacular.
