All seven schools in the J.O. Combs Unified School District will remain closed for Wednesday, May 2, 2018.
 UPDATED 3:00 AM May 3: All FUSD Schools will be closed today, May 3, 2018.  Once the Governor has signed the budget all schools will re-open.
Poston Butte High School has been recognized has one of the top top percentage participating Arizona schools in United Blood Services annual Blood Drive Challenge, earning the Lou Gehrig Division Award. During the year, students brought in 460 blood donations - 116% of their senior class size - which benefited more than 920 patients after separation in components.

The Utilities Division of the Arizona Corporation Commission has subpoenaed George H Johnson, in connection with the administrative hearing March 29th, in the matter of the commission's investigation of the billing and water quality issues of Johnson Utilities.
In some areas of San Tan Valley, the county is widening Hunt Hwy. In other areas, the county is planning to move it completely.
