Eight Deaths Related to Flu in Pinal County

Pinal County has continued to receive reports of historically high numbers of influenza cases in the community. So far, Pinal County has more than 1,000 cases reported this season, more than last year. Currently there are eight recorded deaths related to flu. The deaths are concentrated in members of the public over 50 years of age.

PCSO DUI Task Force Works to Keep County Roads Safe

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office conducted intense DUI patrols over the holiday weekend. Deputies made 123 total stops from November 24th-November 25th. On one of the traffic stops, a drunk driver put his vehicle in reverse and struck the deputy’s motorcycle. The driver was arrested.

Rabies Confirmed in Animals Found in Superstition Mountain Area

Public Health officials in Pinal and Maricopa Counties today said the Arizona Department of Health Services State Public Health Laboratory has confirmed at least two cases of rabies from animals near the Superstition Mountains.
