Phase III of the Hunt Hwy expansion will be complete by close of business Friday, February 10th. While there will still be some work to do in regards to landscape and median pavers near Wal-Mart which will require some traffic control and intermittent lane closures, the cones for the expansion itself will be removed.
Other roadwork to come:
- Utility adjustments will be needed on Bella Vista Road. There will be a closure on the outside lanes February 13th-15th. Then a closure on the inside lanes February 20th-22nd.
- Signal improvements will start February 27th on Hunt Highway. Work may last up to two weeks between the intersections of Bella Vista Road and Wal-Mart. Lane closures will be included for a few hours a day throughout the two week span.
So what's next for Hunt Hwy?
Public works will be working on utility adjustments in the new asphalt on Bella Vista the following week with a few days of lane closures.
Phase IV of Hunt Hwy & Phase D2 of Gantzel Connection
The next phase will begin by the summer, which will include the Gantzel connection to Hunt Hwy, followed by the Phase IV of Hunt Hwy expansion from Bella Vista to Magma Road. These next phases will also include regional area Flood Control improvements (basins, channels), upgrades to existing traffic signals and installation of new bike/pedestrian facilities.
