I just wanted to share our dear friends story in hopes of inspiring others!
Johnie and Tammie Mendoza are former foster parents who have adopted 10 children from the system, the last is a medically fragile 2 year old who also has an NG feeding tube and various medical issues requiring equipment. They know all too well the importance of formula thickener and sterile tubes for tube feeding.
As Harvey gained force they began seeing posts on FB of families who had lost everything, including their medical supplies for loved ones who so desperately needed them. They quickly found the Parker Lee Project in Innis, TX who was also trying to get medical supplies for displaced Harvey families.
They agreed to collect what they could here in AZ and personally drive it in their truck all the 17 hours to Innis for distribution.
The response and their effort has been OVERWHELMING!
Their house is FILLED with donations from all over AZ. They have traveled back and forth from Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale with even more pick ups to come today!
They are amazing people and a true credit to the human heart!
In the wake of all the devastation Harvey has caused I hope that you may consider their story as uplifting and encouraging as we do.
Perhaps there are people out their looking for a way to help and this may give them the inspiration they need!BLOG COMMENTS POWERED BY DISQUS
