State General Counsel Bret Parke Named ADEQ Deputy Director

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality announced today the appointment of Bret Parke, currently General Counsel for the state’s Department of Administration, as the agency’s deputy director. In his new capacity, Mr. Parke will serve as chief of staff to ADEQ Director Misael Cabrera and oversee the agency’s operations, including its budget and administrative support functions.

This afternoon at 4:55 p.m., PCSO deputies were called to a home in the 17000 block of Paseo Del Canto, Gold Canyon, on a report of a child drowning.  A PCSO deputy who arrived first on scene found a 27-year-old father performing CRP on his 3-year-old son. The deputy immediately took over and resumed life saving measures.

On 8-16-2011, just before 9:30 a.m., a tandem bicycle ridden by Brian Pangburn, 46, and Pam Pangburn, 47, (both of Casa Grande) was heading North on Trekell Road, towards Casa Grande, when a 1994 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by J.B. Gore, 86, of Arizona City, struck the rear of the bicycle while heading in the same direction.The collision occurred near the intersection of Trekell Road and Peters Roads. Both Pangburn were wearing helmets and using a red strobe light to warn drivers.

**UPDATE** Jessica Brown saw the Amber Alert and turned herself in.  All of her children are safe. On Wednesday, February 19th, 2014 at 9:15 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a family member of Jessica Brown.  The family member was concerned Jessica was going to harm herself.  Jessica told the family member before she did, that she would drop off her four children with another family member.

On October 30th, 2012 at 12:09 a.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a burglary in progress in the 5600 block of East Oasis Court, Florence.

Apache Junction Police are looking for two males, possible juveniles, in connection with a Circle K store robbery Tuesday.The two entered the store at 2360 W Broadway Ave. around 3:30 p.m., Apache Junction Police Capt. Thomas Kelly said, and approached the clerk, who was the only person in the store at the time. One pointed a gun and demanded money, Kelly said.

On Friday, October 1st, 2010 at 12:01 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a serious injury accident at Cactus Forest Road, approximately 1.5 miles west of Highway 79.

On October 21st, 2010 at 6:18 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call regarding a serious injury collision on Reddington Road south of San Manuel. Deputies arrived on scene within minutes of the call being dispatched. The two vehicle collision was located on Reddington Road, 2.1 miles south of River Road.

On December 26th, 2010 at 3:07 a.m. a citizen driving on Lamb Road just north of Laguna Street in Arizona City reported coming upon a single vehicle rollover collision. Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to investigate. It was determined during the investigation, James Bowen (age 29 of Arizona City) was driving his 2005 Nissan passenger car southbound on Lamb Road. He drove his vehicle through the northbound lanes of traffic and onto the east shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then drove back across all lanes of traffic and through the west shoulder of the roadway and into some soft dirt. The front end of the vehicle dug into the dirt causing it to roll over several times.

On Friday, April 15th, 2011 at 5:08 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious injury accident on Water Tank Road in San Manuel.  The location is on a private dirt road.When deputies arrived on scene, it was determined a 2007 Polaris Ranger was being driven northbound on the dirt road.  The 1985 Ford Bronco was being driven southbound on the same dirt road.  The two vehicle struck head on when they both reached the top of the hill.  The force of the head on impact caused the Ranger to rollover onto its top.

  On Saturday, November 24th, 2012 at 2:13 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call related to a serious injury accident on Mount Lemmon Road near the intersection of Fuego Road in Oracle. The two vehicles involved with the crash were a 2000 Ford F350 truck and a 1991 SPCO sand-rail. The accident occurred as both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and struck head-on as they came around the corner of the dirt road.

On Wednesday, September 4th, 2013 at 6:17 a.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call related to a car vs. motorcycle serious injury accident at the intersection of Selma Highway and Curry Road, in the unincorporated area of Eloy.
