The Town of Florence has announced upcoming road improvements along Hunt Highway that will include both partial lane restrictions and full road closures—affecting many San Tan Valley residents who regularly travel this corridor. The project will focus on chip sealing and the addition of a new right-turn lane at the State Route 79 intersection.

The work will take place between SR 79 and Felix Road, with closures scheduled in phases throughout early to mid-July.

Lane Restriction Schedule:

• June 30 – July 3
• July 7 – July 10

During these dates, single-lane closures with flaggers will be in place. Drivers should expect minor delays during daytime hours.

Full Road Closures:

• Friday, July 11 at 9:00 p.m. through Monday, July 14 at 5:00 a.m.
• Friday, July 18 at 9:00 p.m. through Monday, July 21 at 5:00 a.m.

During these full closures, access will be limited to local traffic only in both directions.

Detour Information:

To navigate around the affected area, drivers are advised to use one of the following detour routes:

• State Route 287 and Attaway Road
• State Route 79 and Arizona Farms Road

These improvements are designed to improve traffic flow and extend the life of this heavily traveled roadway. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra time during these construction periods.
