Lane Restrictions Coming to SR 79 Starting April 13
Drivers who travel along State Route 79 should plan ahead for delays starting next week, as a road rehabilitation project gets underway in Pinal County.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), lane restrictions will be in place on SR 79 between mileposts 105 and 110 beginning Monday, April 13.
The work will affect both northbound and southbound traffic.
What drivers can expectCrews will be working on the roadway daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, through the end of summer.
During those hours:
- Traffic will be reduced to one lane at a time
- A flagging operation with a pilot car will guide vehicles through the work zone
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph
Drivers should expect delays while traveling through this stretch of highway.
ADOT is asking motorists to slow down and use caution in the work zone. Drivers should watch for construction crews, equipment, and changing traffic patterns.
The schedule may change depending on weather or other unexpected conditions.
For those who regularly use SR 79, allowing extra travel time and staying alert through the area will help keep both drivers and workers safe.
