Time to Lace-Up for the CAAFA 6th Annual 5K Run/Walk

“We are really looking forward to this year’s run,” said CAAFA Executive Director, Elizabeth Ditlevson Garman. “Last year’s run did a great deal to raise awareness and fund services for the women and children we serve. We are looking forward to an even more successful event this year!” 

Pre-registration has already begun. Pre-registration is $20 per person and $15 for those 55 and over. Day-of registration is $25, and kids under 9 run free. Wingfoot Finish is donating their services to time this year’s race. Those interested in pre-registration can go to http://register.wingfootfinish.com/, come into CAAFA’s office at 185 N. Runners and walkers should be at Prospector Park at 7am to pick up their packets and t-shirts, and for day-of registration. The race will begin at 8am and the raffle drawing will begin at 9:15am.

CAAFA provides a toll-free 24 hour crisis line, empowerment sessions, legal advocacy, support groups, emergency shelter services, advocacy, and community education and outreach, which touch thousands of community members and domestic and sexual violence victims each year.  The 5K Race/ Walk for Safety helps to ensure that CAAFA can continue to maintain and grow their services, all of which are available free of charge.
