Peralta Regional Park is Officially Open!

Are you ready for a unique backcountry recreation experience that's easy on the eyes and the environment? Look no further than Peralta Regional Park, a 498-acre oasis located just a few miles north of U.S. 60 near Gold Canyon.

County officials officially opened the park this morning, marking the realization of the 2015 Open Space and Trails Master Plan. With a cost of $5.4 million, the park was built in less than a year and features a variety of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy.

Take a hike on one of the 9 miles of nonmotorized trails, which range from barrier-free to challenging. Pitch a tent and spend the night at one of the 31 car and tent camping sites. Have a picnic with friends and family at one of the 18 picnic sites, including 2 large group ramadas. Enjoy the half-mile interpretive trail and stargazing node, perfect for the area's dark skies. There's even an equestrian staging area and waterless restrooms.

Day-use entry is $7 per vehicle, while overnight camping costs $10 per night for all individual sites, and group sites are $35 per night. For more information and to reserve camping sites and ramadas, please visit:

District 5 Supervisor and current Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff Serdy is thrilled with the outcome of the park. "We're so glad it's finally here, so many years and months, and so much sweat put into this, and now we get to see it in action," Serdy commented. "This land is going to be frozen in time to preserve these 500 acres. This just complements the Superstition region, and we're thrilled to have it."

Getting there is easy! From U.S. 60 in Gold Canyon, turn left at the Peralta Road (Forest Road 77) stoplight just past mile marker 204. Follow Peralta Road 5 miles to the park entrance on the right. Peralta Road is maintained dirt suitable for all vehicles. Don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind recreational experience, plan your visit to Peralta Regional Park today!
