The Local Jeweler has been a part of this community for just over a year, and now they want to say thank you.

On Thursday, June 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., The Local Jeweler is hosting their first-ever Customer Appreciation Day at their shop at 35979 N. Gary Road, Suite 105. Everyone is welcome, whether you've been a customer or just want to stop by and see what they're all about. Every visitor gets a free 1-carat semi-precious gemstone, just for showing up.

A Local Business Built on 40+ Years of Craft

If you haven't been in yet, here's the backstory. Master jeweler Murat Ozuzun has been working with precious metals and gemstones since 1982, starting by hand-crafting every piece in Istanbul before moving to Los Angeles, then Alaska, where he and his wife Jennifer built The Local Jeweler from the ground up in Skagway. When the couple moved to Copper Basin in 2023, they brought their shop and 40-plus years of experience right here to San Tan Valley.

"If you dream it, I'll make it," Murat says.

Every stone in the shop is hand-selected by Murat and Jennifer at the Tucson Gem Show, and Murat designs and handcrafts each piece himself, the same way he's always done it. The shop also handles full jewelry repair, ring sizing, chain repair, and watch battery replacements, services that used to mean a 45-minute drive out of San Tan Valley for most residents.

Since their grand opening ribbon-cutting in January 2025, Jennifer and Murat have focused on being part of life's important moments here in San Tan Valley, whether that's a custom engagement ring, a repair on a piece passed down from a loved one, or a gift for someone special.

"Our goal is to become a family household name," they've shared. "We would love to be a part of the big milestones in people's lives."
