A 16-year-old boy was flown to a Valley hospital with life-threatening injuries after Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputies found him in the road on Murray Grey Drive late Thursday night, and detectives are asking anyone who knows what happened to come forward.
Deputies were called to Murray Grey Drive, near Empire Boulevard and Gary Road, at about 11:30 p.m. Oct. 1 for a welfare check, according to the sheriff's office.
Detectives worked through the night and took three other boys, all juveniles, into custody for questioning. All three have since been released while the investigation continues. The sheriff's office said everyone involved knew each other.
According to the sheriff's office, the boy's injuries appear consistent with being hit by a vehicle, and other possible injuries are still under investigation.
The sheriff's office has not announced any charges or released the names of anyone involved. SanTanValley.com will update this story as the sheriff's office releases more information.
