The Poston Butte High School Boys Basketball team is embarking on a transformative season under the guidance of their new head coach, Ron Moore. A former NBA player who was drafted by the Phoenix Suns, Coach Moore is bringing not only his professional athletic experience but also his passion for mentoring young athletes to the program.

Coach Moore's vision extends beyond the basketball court. Together with Amanda, the president of the PBHS Basketball Boosters Club, he is striving to create a culture that prioritizes leadership, community engagement, and character development for his players.

"We want these boys to excel as student-athletes but also as community leaders," shared Amanda. "Coach Moore has a passion for helping youth, and we are thrilled to help him achieve these goals."

Building Character Through Community Involvement

Coach Moore and the Boosters Club have set ambitious goals to connect the team with the local community. A series of outreach events during the basketball season will provide the players with opportunities to give back, develop life skills, and create meaningful relationships. These activities include reading to elementary school students, organizing a food drive, hosting a car show, and volunteering with Feed My Starving Children.

The initiative reflects Coach Moore's belief that basketball is about more than just winning games—it's about teaching valuable life lessons. "I want these young men to leave this program with skills that will serve them for a lifetime, on and off the court," said Coach Moore.

A Community Effort

The Boosters Club and local community are essential partners in these efforts, helping to fund and organize events. The collaboration highlights how sports programs can be a vehicle for community building and mutual support.

As the team gears up for the season, Coach Moore's leadership is already making waves. His professional background and dedication to youth development are not only inspiring the players but also galvanizing the entire Poston Butte community.
