San Tan Valley Town Council candidates are currently gathering signatures to qualify for the July 2026 primary ballot.

To appear on the ballot, each candidate must collect a minimum of 1,000 valid signatures from registered voters by March 23, 2026.

There are 12 residents seeking one of seven open council seats.

Below is the current list of candidates. Those noted were previously appointed to serve on the initial Town Council by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.

Residents who are registered voters and live within the town boundaries, may sign nomination petitions for up to seven candidates.

• Primary Election: July 21, 2026

Arizona's statewide primary election was moved from August to July under a recent change in state law. As a result, municipal election timelines have also shifted earlier this year.
