Pinal County Sheriff's Office Launches Youth Mentorship Program for Teens
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office is inviting local students ages 12 to 17 to participate in its Youth Mentorship Program, an initiative designed to strengthen connections between young people and law enforcement while promoting positive decision-making and life skills.
An informational session and program kickoff will take place Tuesday, March 31 at 6:00 p.m. Interested families are encouraged to register in advance using the online registration form here.
The Youth Mentorship Program meets every other week and operates on a four-class cycle. The program provides structured engagement in a safe and supportive environment, giving participants the opportunity to interact directly with deputies and detectives while learning practical skills.
Throughout the program, students will:
- Meet local deputies and detectives
- Participate in a drug and alcohol awareness course
- Learn strategies for setting and achieving personal goals
- Receive education on the risks and responsibilities of social media, with information provided for both students and parents
- Take part in community service projects
- Tour the Pinal County jail to gain insight into the criminal justice system
Sheriff's Office representatives say the program is focused on encouragement, accountability, and building trust between youth and law enforcement. The goal is to provide mentorship and guidance that helps young people make informed, positive choices.
All students ages 12 to 17 in Pinal County are eligible to participate. Parents who believe their child could benefit from additional mentorship or structured engagement are encouraged to enroll.
