Gentiva Hospice Seeking Volunteers to Support Patients and Families in Pinal County
Residents who want to make a difference in their community may only need to give one hour a month to help support local families during some of life's most difficult moments.
Gentiva Hospice in Casa Grande is currently seeking volunteers to assist hospice patients and their families throughout Pinal County.
Hospice volunteers provide companionship and simple acts of kindness that can bring comfort and peace to people receiving end-of-life care.
"At Gentiva Hospice Casa Grande, we believe every person deserves to spend their final days surrounded by dignity, grace and caring support," the organization said in its volunteer outreach.
Small Acts Can Make a Big ImpactVolunteers are not required to have medical experience. Instead, they simply need a willingness to serve and be present.
According to the volunteer flyer, opportunities may include:
- Sitting with patients and sharing conversation
- Listening, reading, or singing with patients
- Sending cards or making small gifts
- Running errands or helping with light housekeeping
- Sharing flowers, baking, or gardening
- Making phone calls or assisting with office tasks
- Attending community events
- Providing veteran-to-veteran support
Even brief visits or small gestures can provide comfort to patients and relief to families who are navigating end-of-life care.
Flexible Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteers can choose both their schedule and the city where they serve, making it possible to help even with a limited amount of time.
Training and support are provided by Gentiva Hospice, ensuring volunteers feel prepared and confident in their role.
"Every moment you give creates lasting peace for families who need it most," the organization said. "Your presence becomes a gift they will never forget."
