Over 200 Students from 14 Schools Competed at San Tan Foothills in the FBLA Regional Competition

Alan Wittig PC, a local business owner, had a great time judging the students and wished all of the participants the best.

"Those young men and women show so much hope for the future," says LaDonna Ford.

The San Tan Foothills chapter has approximately 60 members of which 25 competed.  "Although our school is both new and small, we are extremely competitive.  We have been fortunate enough to make it to the national competitions each year.  We have bright and eager students.", says Joe Galish, FBLA Advisor.  "Hosting this conference is our chapters first opportunity to truly reach out to the community."

And reach out to the community is just what Joe Galish did too.  To reach out to local businesses and ask for their support locally, Joe spoke at the November San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce meeting as well as at a San Tan Leads meeting, where he was able to "recruit" a number of people interested in participating as judges.  "One of the biggest concerns our local businesses have is whether or not our schools are producing a pool of future employees.  This was a great opportunity for our members to see for themselves, what programs like FBLA, are doing to mold our future workforce", says Tisha Castillo, President/CEO of the San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce.  "We were honored to be asked to participate."

We'd like to thank all of the students, advisors and judges for coming to our beautiful part of the world and for participating in FBLA.

Congratulations to all of the winners and we wish you the best of luck as you move on to the State Competition!
