Ellsworth Elementary Students Study Greek & Latin Root Words
It is their job to use a dictionary as a resource to find words that have these roots and to classify them on the tree map.
Students then infer what the root, prefix, or suffix means based on the similarities of the definitions of words listed.
This extends vocabulary knowledge and equips students with tools they can use to decode challenging academic vocabulary words.
