Combs Traditional Academy to Honor Veterans

The day will begin with a Flag Ceremony for the students in which they will gather around the flagpole to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and recognize any Veterans from the community that attend. Additionally, students have been preparing patriotic songs that they will perform as part of the ceremony. The Flag Ceremony begins at 8:30am in front of the school’s flagpole. Throughout the day, students will participate in writing and learning activities using Veteran’s Day resources to help students learn and analyze the significance that those that have fought for the United States have made. Students will take what they are learning to write letters and informative narratives or posters that will be shared with the local chapter of the Veterans Administration.

The school offers free bus transportation throughout the district boundaries, including Ironwood Crossing, Pecan Creek, Castlegate, and other subdivisions along the Ironwood corridor, and into the Circle Cross Ranch, Rancho Bella Vista South, and San Tan Heights subdivisions.
