Combs Traditional Academy Sets the Standard for Excellence in Pinal County

Overall, Combs Traditional Academy was the highest performing school in Pinal County, outperforming all other District and Charter Schools. Seventy-one percent of the 3rd-6th graders at Combs Traditional Academy passed English Language Arts (ELA) and 70% passed Mathematics, compared to the county average of 28% passing ELA and 29% passing Mathematics. Additionally, the 4th grade cohort from Combs Traditional Academy had 87% of students pass the English Language Arts test, which placed them as the 14th highest rated cohort in the state of Arizona.

When asked to describe why the school has found so much success, Principal, Mr. Marcus Berkshire, attributed it to the dedication of the families, students, and staff of the school. “We have been fortunate to have veteran teachers working with our children who are able to meet our students where they are and take them to where they need to be. Our strength lies in our small school environment that focuses on Rigor, Responsibility, and Respect and the collaboration between parents and teachers.”
