Combs Middle School Veterans Day Celebration
Before school, the students and their veteran guests had the opportunity to enjoy some tasty snacks in the cafeteria. When the school day began, the entire school community participated in the singing of “The Star Spangled Banner” and the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance. Then, the veterans enjoyed being celebrated with some patriotic songs and speeches shared by Ms. Patricia Edgemon (8th Grade English Teacher and Veteran) and three students (Tawny Johnson, Laine Wise, and Hayley Johnson).
To create a beautiful backdrop for our guests, Mr. Lorin Humphreys (Art Teacher) and his art students created a number of posters and thank you hearts that were displayed throughout the cafeteria.
CMS would like to extend its gratitude to all of the veterans who have served our country. Happy Veterans Day!
