Central Arizona College's Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Receives High Honors at Regional Convention

Central Arizona College's Alpha Theta Delta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) has achieved remarkable success at the recent PTK Regional Convention, earning a series of prestigious awards and recognitions.

The chapter was honored with the distinguished Five Star Chapter status, a testament to its excellence in engagement and leadership within the PTK community. Additionally, the chapter received the Phi Theta Kappa Reach Award, Hall of Honor College Project Award, and both the Honors-in-Action Award and Distinguished Honors-in-Action Award for Theme 2: The Economics of Play. These accolades highlight the chapter's commitment to academic achievement and community involvement.

Among individual recognitions, Quintine Brown was named the Arizona Region Distinguished Chapter Member, while Jaymie Lee received the Chapter Officer Hall of Honor award, spotlighting their outstanding contributions to the chapter's success.

The chapter's advisors were also notably recognized for their exceptional dedication and service. Cassandra Holcombe, a Student Services Generalist and PTK Advisor, was awarded the Arizona Region Paragon Advisor Award for her impactful service under four years. Heather Moulton, a Professor of English and PTK Advisor, received the Arizona Region Distinguished Advisor Award. Dr. Sandy Rath, Professor of Speech Communication and PTK Lead Advisor, was not only named a Distinguished Advisor at the regional level but was also one of the twenty advisors nationally honored on-stage at the PTK International Catalyst Convention in Orlando, FL.

Dr. Rath expressed her gratitude for the recognition, saying, "I am completely humbled by this recognition. I not only have the best students, but I have an exceptional team of colleague advisors at Central Arizona College who support me and our students. Being an advisor with Phi Theta Kappa has been a highlight in my career and I look forward to many more years working alongside the many remarkable students who attend CAC."

The achievements of Central Arizona College's PTK chapter at both the regional and international levels reflect the dynamic community of scholars at CAC. The college continues to foster an environment where academic excellence and community service can flourish, under the guidance of dedicated educators and ambitious students alike. This recognition is a clear indicator of the chapter's influential role within the broader Phi Theta Kappa community, which spans across 1300 chapters in all states and in 10 different nations.
