Around 2pm, April 24th, Ellsworth Elementary School was placed on lock down by the Pinal County Sheriff's Office because of a situation in the neighborhood.
Jack Harmon Elementary students raised over $800 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society which supports cancer research and improves the quality of life for cancer patients and their families.
Combs Middle School community service projects are an important aspect of middle school life. Whether this occurs through all-school activities or on an individual basis, CMS regularly welcomes the opportunity to serve others. One aspect of community service that happens often at the middle school is that of an Eagle Scout project.
Members of the inaugural Ranch Junior Optimist International (JOI) were inducted on January 20, 2017 at Ranch Elementary. Cynthia Vaughn, Arizona District of Optimist International JOI Club Chair, presented the opening dedication. She spoke to the junior inductees about what it means to be part of this international organization and the opportunities to serve youth in their community.

Tuesday's Florence Unified School District not only included the board accepting Superintendent Dr Fuller's immediate resignation, but the call to the public had close to a dozen people speaking for and against San Tan Foothills' Principal Richard's decision to "force Coach Martin to resign" as head coach from the Sabercat football program.
During the March 7th Florence Unified School District Board meeting, Dr. Amy Fuller submitted her resignation as Superintendent of the Florence Unified School District. The School Board accepted the resignation and appointed Assistant Superintendent Chris Knutsen as the Interim Superintendent for the remainder of the 2016-2017 school year. Combs Middle School seventh grade honors students recently participated in the ASU Honeywell Fiesta Bowl Aerospace Challenge at the ASU Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, Arizona.
