The Town of Superior and the Superior Chamber of Commerce have recently been informed that the popular navigation app - MAPS on Apple iPhones continue to report that US 60 is closed from Happy Camp/Hewitt Station Road near the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The app navigates users to travel through the Kearny/Kelvin Highway in order to get to Superior or the other communities in this region. Those planning trips to Globe from the Phoenix area are being re-routed through the Beeline Highway.

Civil War in the Southwest is an annual event held at Picacho Peak State Park depicting the historic re-enactment of an Arizona Civil War skirmish, Battle of Picacho Pass. The event also includes re-enactments of the New Mexico battles of Glorieta and Val Verde. The three re-enactments will take place on Saturday, March 18, 2017 and will be repeated on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Runners are welcome to participate in the 26.2 mile marathon, while walkers and runners may register for the shorter distances.
