Pinal County Residents Invited to Comment on Superior Court Candidates

Eight applicants are being considered for two open positions on the Superior Court in Pinal County, following the appointment of Hon. Lacey A. Stover Gard and Hon. Christopher J. O'Neil to the Arizona Court of Appeals. The Pinal County Commission on Trial Court Appointments is inviting local residents to view the applicants' applications online and provide feedback.

The eight candidates are Jessica K. Hernandez Dixon, Danielle Harris, Kyle D. Hopson, Karen F. Palmer, Jamie R. Ramirez, Matthew S. Reed, Megan K. Weagant, and Lawrence M. Wharton. The public can access their applications on the Commission's website, azcourts.gov/jnc.

A public meeting will be held on March 3, 2023, to review the applications and hear comments from the community. The meeting details, as well as the public meeting notice and agenda, will be posted on the Commission's website at least seven days before the meeting.

Written comments must be received no later than February 28, 2023, and anonymous comments will not be considered.

The Commission will select the applicants to be interviewed at the March 3 meeting and conduct the interviews on March 28, 2023. The logistics of the interview meeting will be available after the March 3 meeting. The Commission will then recommend at least three nominees for each open position to Governor Katie Hobbs, who will appoint the new judges.
