PCAO Debuts "Courtroom Chronicles" Podcast

January 29, 2024,  marked the launch of a groundbreaking podcast by the Pinal County Attorney's Office (PCAO), titled "Courtroom Chronicles with the County Attorney." This new series aims to provide the community with a clearer understanding of the criminal justice system and insights into the prosecution of cases in Pinal County.

Hosted by County Attorney Kent Volkmer, the podcast will air on most major podcast platforms, as well as the PCAO Facebook page and YouTube channel. "Courtroom Chronicles with the County Attorney" is designed to demystify the prosecutorial process, offering insights into how cases are evaluated, the intricacies of charging decisions, and the broader role of prosecutors.

"I hope this series gives valuable insight to those looking to better understand what we do as prosecutors, including how we evaluate cases, how we make difficult charging decisions and what the true role of a prosecutor is," Volkmer stated.

The PCAO plans to produce two episodes each month. One episode will focus on a fully resolved criminal case, providing listeners with a detailed narrative and analysis. The other will explore the dynamics of the criminal justice process, offering an inside look into the workings of the legal system.

Further encouraging community involvement, PCAO welcomes suggestions and questions from residents regarding the criminal justice system. Public Information Officer Mike Pelton commented, "Simply, this is a cool opportunity to expand on elements of the criminal justice system that are often of huge interest to our community. We hope those who watch or listen find it entertaining, educational and a great opportunity to better understand the inner workings of the process."
