Letter to the Editor: Government Shutdown
Another week in Trump's government shutdown, and another abomination from the extremist racist and antisemitic fringe allied to Trump's dictatorial declaration of war on American cities.
This time a revelation about a group of Young Republican leaders who with friends from New York, Kansas and Vermont engaged in an orgy of violent language against Black Americans and Jews in a series of messages disclosed yesterday by Politico.
Some of the participants hypocritically identify themselves as devout Catholics, members of my faith. A disclosure that underscores the absence of faith-based moral leadership within these County chambers in direct response to these immoral challenges facing your constituents.
Among those young racists participants was Luke Mosiman, Arizona Young Republicans chairman, Rachel Hope, Young Republicans events chairperson. Both declined to comment on Politico's disgusting disclosures.
Employing a strategy of silence similar to the silence of Pinal County officials when challenged to push back against Donald Trump's war on American cities.
A war that includes attacks against affordable health care for 28.7 percent of Arizona's population; war tactics that threaten to shut down rural medical facilities, impose funding cuts to food programs for vulnerable children, and the wholesale dehumanizing of targeted Arizona Latino residents like me who are being disappeared off our American streets by masked unidentifiable government agents aided by uncamouflaged but militarized local law enforcement.
War tactics amplified by this past month's call for execution of Democratic Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal by Arizona State Representative John Gillette, and the years-long calls for physical violence against political adversaries by State Senator Wendy Rogers.
This weekend I choose to stand in defense of democracy during the No Kings Day protests against Trump's undeniable push towards dictatorship.
I encourage defenders of democracy, members of the demoralized once-proud Grand Old Party, Democrats, Independents, antifa -- anti-fascist forces who helped us win World War II. Join us Saturday morning in Casa Grande and Apache Junction.
A strategy of silence does not defend Democracy!
Roberto Reveles read these remarks at the Pinal County Board of Supervisors meeting, October 15, 2025.

What a crock! Far left crap!
Typical liberal finger pointing when the left has so much fluff in the budget. You people really need to accept the fact that your party almost destroyed this country and the Republicans have a long way to go to fix it. If it is too much for you then leave the USA because we will MAGA!!
Can we please stay out of politics at least here? You are supposed to inform people on happenings here in our neighborhood. leave politics to national and local news. No need to raise emotions here. Thank you.
