Letter to the Editor: Call to the Public

Mr. Chairman,

Thanks to Arizona's first Mexican American congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, yesterday's historic vote on the Epstein pedophile case, dramatically signals the beginning of the end of Donald Trump's decadent dictatorship that has defecated on the legacy of the once Grand Old Party.

I can't help but recall the Grand Old Party leader Ronald Reagan who in 1984 launched a campaign theme with the uplifting words "It's morning again in America."

In that spirit I offer today's remarks in hopes we can launch a new morning again in Pinal County. A new morning that underscores three objectives: one, stop reviving baseless claims of a stolen election; two, stop shifting blame on the January 6 foiled insurrection; and three, listen to your constituents during Call to the Public as we focus on issues within the Board's authority and jurisdiction.

Following the last regular Board meeting on November 5, I submitted to you a copy of my prepared Call to the Public statement.

Let me refresh your memory. In that written statement I criticized Supervisor Serdy's remarks that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from candidate Donald Trump, and his additional statement that the January 6 violent attack against the Capitol was instigated by 275 FBI agents involving hundreds more.

Furthermore, I criticized the Board's silence on Trump's cuts affecting Medicaid health care, public education, affordable housing, aid for road construction, clean energy production, public lands protection, and tax incentives related to electric vehicles that directly hurt our county's economy.

Contrary to the Board's silence, these federal actions are affecting Pinal County families and our county's economy. These issues are indisputably within the Board's authority and jurisdiction.

Your silence moves me to respectfully request that the Board give direction to staff that will allow the public to help you.

Direction to place on the next regular Board agenda, discussion of how the public can constructively assist the Board in contacting Arizona's congressional delegation to restore funding for the above cited issues affecting Pinal County's residents and our County's economy.

Today is the first opportunity you've had to respond to my constructive criticism at the November 5 board meeting.

Please respond by accepting this offer of help from your constituents.

Your voters stand ready to help. Silence will not restore funding to Pinal County.

Thank you.

Roberto Reveles read these remarks at the Pinal County Board of Supervisors meeting, November 18, 2025.
