Katy Perry will be the headline halftime performer at Super Bowl XLIX, according to multiple reports.
The Wall Street Journal previously reported Perry was among several artists the NFL was interested in for the show. However, the league was also interested in being compensated by the performer for the fame the television ratings bring.
In February, Super Bowl XLVIII set viewership records with 111.5 million viewers, and the NFL was reportedly looking to capitalize off that success when looking for a headline act.
Perry recently appeared on College GameDay, ESPN's popular Saturday college football show, and alluded that she was not interested in paying the NFL to perform while delivering a theatrical segment that made headlines.
Perry will be following Bruno Mars, who performed at halftime during Super Bowl XLVIII.
Super Bowl XLIX will be played on Feb. 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
