The J.O. Combs Unified School District has announced that the Governing Board has selected Mr. Toby Haugen as the district's next Superintendent. He is scheduled to officially step into the role on July 1, 2026.

District leaders say the transition will be a gradual one. Over the coming months, Mr. Haugen will work closely with current Superintendent Dr. Greg Wyman to help ensure continuity and a smooth handoff of responsibilities. The district plans to share additional updates with families, staff, and the broader community as the transition moves forward.

Mr. Haugen brings a broad range of experience to the position, having served in multiple roles across education. His background includes time in the classroom as a teacher, leadership at the school level as a principal, and district-level experience as a director of human resources. Throughout his career, he has focused on supporting student success, developing strong staff teams, and building positive relationships with families and the community.

The Governing Board expressed confidence in Mr. Haugen's leadership and vision, noting that his experience aligns with the district's ongoing commitment to providing high-quality educational opportunities for all students.

More information about the transition and future plans is expected to be shared in the weeks ahead.
