If you came of age in the 1960’s, you could easily admit to being a fan of the Beatles or the Rolling Stones. But chances are that for your guilty pleasure, in 1966-1968, you tuned your television to NBC on Monday nights, 7 p.m. Central/Mountain, 8 p.m. Atlantic/Pacific to watch “The Monkees.” On Friday, August 9, 2013, almost forty seven years after their initial television debut, the East Valley will be treated to a live performance by The Monkees who play at the Mesa Arts Center at 8 p.m. as part of the “A Midsummer’s Night With The Monkees” tour.
