BBQ, movie under the stars headline Welcome Week at CAC’s Superstition Mountain Campus

With Central Arizona College ready to unveil its new-look Superstition Mountain Campus, the college is welcoming its students and staff for the beginning of a new academic year.

Welcome Week, billed as an opportunity for attendees to make new friends, is a 10-day event full of activities open and free to all CAC students, faculty and staff. The event will take place Monday through Friday, Aug. 20-31, at the Superstition Mountain Campus in Apache Junction, Ariz., just north of U.S. Route 60 at the intersection of Broadway and Idaho roads.

At the age of 15, Kimberly Koerth will collect her associate degree from Central Arizona College

Scholar, band member, honor society affiliate, club participant, intern, and scholarship recipient - Kimberly Koerth is the definition of an accelerated student.

Having skipped a grade back at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, Koerth has always been younger than her classmates, but age isn’t the only thing that sets her apart.

The 15-year-old Koerth will be graduating this May from high school and also will be receiving her associate of arts degree from Central Arizona College.

Few students receive college acceptance letters before they are even old enough to drive.

Arizona State University recently awarded Combs High School with the ‘Lead and Inspire Honorable Mention’ for the Rural High School Division. This is the third year this award is neing awarded and recognizes Arizona schools for their efforts to include more students in rigorous coursework and involve students in activities that can lead to success.

CAC & Rose Law Group team up for free Estate Planning & Asset Protection Workshop March 24

Central Arizona College and the Rose Law Group are teaming up to offer a free workshop on Estate Planning and Asset Protection this Saturday, March 24, from 12:30-1:15 p.m. at the Signal Peak Campus.

The 45-minute information session will take place in Room N125 of the Sizer Building at the Signal Peak Campus which is located at 8470 N. Overfield Rd. between the cities of Coolidge and Casa Grande.

If you enjoy reading and discussing contemporary literature, then consider joining Central Arizona College’s Book Discussion Group at the Superstition Mountain Campus.

Offered by CAC’s C.A.L.L. program and facilitated by Carol Deike, the group will meet four Mondays throughout the spring from 10 a.m.-Noon. The dates of each meeting are Jan. 23, Feb. 20, March 19 and April 16. The cost for joining the group is $20.

Bron Thompson was honored as the Certified (Teacher) Employee of the Month for December. Thompson has been at Skyline Ranch since the school opened. "I have seen him develop his teaching skills over the years, and I am proud to share his success with you tonight," stated Principal Maribel Lopez.
