Main St. Florence, Arizona 85132 For Immediate Release January 5, 2021 CONTACT: Director of Public Relations, Rita Ann Ezzai, 520-400-4353 FLORENCE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT #1 INSTALLS NEWLY ELECTED GOVERNING BOARD MEMBERS On January 1, 2021 three newly elected Governing School Board Members will begin their four-year term. At the conclusion of the December 8, 2020 Board meeting, Sherri Jones, Tammy Quist and Roger Biede were officially sworn in and took the Oath of Office. Each new member brings an extensive background in either education or community engagement. The first Governing Board Meeting for the newly elected members will take place on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 in the Florence Unified School District Board Room located at 1000 S. Main Street in Florence. This meeting will be accessible via livestream beginning at 5:20 P.M. Newly elected official, Roger Biede has stated, “I am looking forward to working with the Board to ensure that we continue to give our students the best opportunities to succeed while keeping our teachers, staff, and children safe in these trying times.” Superintendent Knutsen’s Quote: “We are fortunate at Florence Unified to have such dedicated community members to serve on our Governing Board.
