Mr. Jim Segar, Physical Education Teacher, and Circle Cross Ranch K-8 STEM Academy were notified on August 10th they had been awarded a $4,000 grant from Fuel Up Play 60. This is in connection with the Dairy Council of Arizona and is provided for nutrition and fitness to improve student health and wellness.

The advanced Ag Science students at Combs High School are involved in building raised plant beds with a hands-on project. After the initial build of the greenhouses, students are now involved in implementing scientific practices by mixing their soil with the proper proportions of water and plant nutrients. The students will be growing all the vegetables needed to make salsa for the CHS staff.
American Leadership Academy's San Tan Valley campus received a grant from bestselling author James Patterson to support their school library. In addition to the grant, the Scholastic Reading Club is also matching each dollar of Patterson’s donation with “bonus points” that teachers can use to acquire books and other materials for their classrooms.
