Tuesday, Nov. 6, is the day of the general election that will decide the U.S. presidential race, the U.S. congressional races, state races, county races, and local races such as school district and fire district governing board seats.

Pinal County Sheriff's Candidate, Tom Bearup will hold a press conference on Wednesday, June 27th, 2012 beginning at 10am.  The press conference will be held at Peart Park, 350 E 6th Street, Casa Grande, Arizona.

On July 17th, 2013, I issued a call to arms for Pinal County to support the petition drive to place HB2305 on the 2014 ballot. Well today we learned that approximately 146,000 signatures were submitted to the Secretary of State to 1) stop this odious bill from being enacted and 2) placing the bill on the ballot for the people to defeat next November. When petitions were passed out to the Pinal County Precinct Committeepersons, they did not hesitate to take on the challenge of knocking on doors, setting up tables and having community gatherings to collect signatures. What seemed like a tremendous task upfront was quickly reduced to just business as usual for the volunteers. It also became very apparent that, We Are Not Alone!!!

With only 10 business days to complete requirements and gather signatures, San Tan Valley business owner Tisha Castillo filed for a slot on the ballot in the Pinal County Supervisor race during the August 28th Republican primary.

“My newly-formed election committee did a great job this weekend and easily tripled the required number of signatures we needed to file,” says Tisha.

Constable candidate must pay nearly $10K by Oct. 30

Steve Henry, the Pinal County Sheriff Office Chief Deputy, announced today that he would be running to fill the impending open Sheriff’s position. With the recent news that current Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu will be running for the open 1st Congressional District their will need to be a strong and capable person to fill those shoes.

Republican seeking votes in Aug. 28 primary

San Tan Valley resident Shon White is running as a write-in candidate for Pinal County constable in Apache Junction in the Republican primary on Aug. 28.

The seat for Pinal County attorney is being contested between incum­bent Democrat James Walsh and challenger Republican Lando Voyles. The county attorney’s office is tasked with prosecuting cases brought to it by the sheriff ’s office.

The office has about 150 people work­ing for it including more than 40 attorneys. Its annual budget is about $14 million.

Mr. Walsh has a Bachelor of Arts de­gree from St. Louis University and a Ju­ris Doctorate from University of Chicago Law School.

State Senator Barbara McGuire today announced her intention to seek re-election to the State Senate in Legislative District 8. She had previously explored a potential bid for Arizona’s First Congressional District.
